My name is Flavio, I live in Düsseldorf and I am 53 years old. I have been doing sports since my youth, especially gymnastics and swimming. In the later years I trained mostly in a normal fitness studio, but that bored me more and more. 3 years ago I discovered Crossfit Training and was immediately enthusiastic about it. In the studio Crossfit on the Rhine I got to know Jakob as a trainer. What I especially like about the training with him is that he is very motivating and it is great fun with him. He has many new ideas that always make training exciting and challenging. Because I liked it so much, I have booked many personal training hours with him together with a small group of friends since then. As a result, I have developed a lot, especially in the area of gymnastics/calisthenics, and have achieved many goals that I never expected. Thanks to Jakob in particular, my mobility has improved considerably. Every week I look forward to the PT hours with Jakob. I can absolutely recommend training with him – also because of his friendly and funny nature!
I had always been training throughout my life, being healthy is a daily goal I aspire to and focus on. From the moment I shook hands with Coach Jakob on our first meet, I could feel his passion and love for fitness, health and more importantly positive thinking! Within a couple of weeks of training with him, I felt I was building strength and confidence physically, mentally and he always challenged me to learn more which kept our training session so fresh and always ended before I even realized. I ended up training five times a week with him and enlisted my husband in a separate session and also my kids. And again Coach Jakob personalized each of their training to deal with their issues and more importantly build on their confidence and positive awareness of themselves. He truly goes the extra mile with each session; leaving us excited and proud of our input and focused on the positivity of the day. He has ample space to listen, process and respond to issues on the spot from his vast experiences and self taught and acquired knowledge and shares it readily to empower us and keep us up to date and challenging us to want to do better and learn more. I have to admit with all my years of personal training Coach Jakob ranks as my favourite by a mile and is an investment worth every second! I still call him Coach, but I consider him and we all in the house share this feeling too, as we call him a very close trusted friend!
Jakob is a trusted and knowledgeable trainer who we welcomed in our home for over a year as we trained daily with him whilst we lived in Duesseldorf. He tailor makes each programme and changes it as we progress and then changes it again to work on weakness as we identify them. I found my body better balanced in strength left to right side and after every hour we spent so much more satisfied that it truly framed the day beautifully regardless of how hard my day had been in the office especially with the hectic schedule I have as a CEO.
Jakob is the perfect combination of tough yet warm and he knows how to connect with his clients in order to get the best out of them. He teaches me the “how”, “what” and “why” of what we are doing as we move through each exercise. Jakob has not only made my goals seem completely attainable, but he has truly motivated me to challenge myself and persevere through the mental blocksI was originally looking to have only five training sessions with Jakob. In just three sessions, I noticed an immediate improvement with my running. At the end of the five sessions, I noticed I had gained more strength and muscle in my legs and upper body. My technique had vastly improved and for the very time in my life, I was able to do a negative pull-up.I immediately made the decision to continue training with him on a permanent basis.There are many personal trainers in the world. However, very few of them poses a vast amount of specialized and diverse knowledge with experience and dedication to their clients the way Jakob does. This is extremely beneficial for his clients, especially if one has had a major injury as I did. I had to undergo surgery for a ruptured rotator cuff and bone reconstruction. Jakob not only helped raise my spirits on the days I was struggling, but he possessed the knowledge and expertise on how to help me gain my strength back. In under a year I am stronger on some exercises than where I was prior to the injury and I have Jakob’s knowledge and dedication to thank for this.
